The Rule of 1 Will Set You Free
This alone makes you successful
I’m going to expand on what my first mentor taught me, The Rule of 1.
In my last email, I told you about how simplicity is infinitely better than complexity.
People think they need to be doing the absolute most.
This system, that system, this new software, that app, side hustle here, side hustle there.
“Multiple streams of income!”, you think to yourself, as your busted down BMW 3 series leaves your coolant filled driveway.
Chill out. Forget multiple streams of income.
The Rule of 1 indicates that you do the following:
Solve 1 Problem,
For 1 Specific Person,
That Delivers 1 Specific Transformation.
And with that — you have 1 offer that you sell.
Simple. Don’t overcomplicate it.
Now, I know that doing the ‘harder’ thing in business is what will make it harder for others to copy, making you stand out in the marketplace.
You can worry about that later after you have motion.
For now, you can just follow The Rule of 1.
The Rule of 1 is all about simplicity.
Some of us live complicated lives, and we tend to bring that complicated way of thinking and/or problem solving on our road to success.
Success has complications along the way, but the complications must not come from you.
And if they do, you must change, level up & optimize.
I’m building a new product right now and I’m nanometers away from launching it.
I have 3 reminders for myself as I go through this process of building & delivering my product:
1) Decrease client’s time to value
2) Increase client’s likelihood of achievement
3) Keep it simple
That’s it.
I even set my life up in my condo specifically to have a minimalist surrounding to avoid things that add complexity into myself.
Setting up the external world to guide your internal world, and vice versa.
It’s about how you think.
The only ironic part about it is me living in a skyscraper in the middle of a complex city.
But that’s because I like waking up to a south-facing lake view.
And that reason alone, is simple.
Stay in it,
— Aiden
